Sweet Lilliana is just 10 days old. She joins her 2 sisters, Hayden and Kyleigh, who just can’t get enough of this new baby girl. What a sweet family!
This lovely Pride & Prejudice themed styled shoot was designed by my wonderful and creative daughter-in-law, Brooke. She recently started her own wedding/event planning business called North Star Events and is so excited about getting started with this new venture of hers. This was a fun shoot for me for several reasons…one is that it took place right here at my house in our front field and woods. Second, the lovely bride & groom models are my daughter-in-law, Brooke and my son, Clark. And third, I love details… and the vendors that Brooke chose to work with for this shoot are some of my favorites so I knew this styled shoot was going to be awesome! Enjoy this Pride & Prejudice themed styled shoot designed by my all time favorite Wedding/Event Coordinator North Star Events! Here’s Brooke to tell you all about her inspiration…
“Pride & Prejudice is undoubtedly one of my favorite stories. And it’s not because it is incredibly quotable (it is) or even because it’s desperately romantic (it is). I love it, because it is about true soul mates–two flawed, but perfectly complementary people inexorably drawn to each other. The message is close to my heart and central to my philosophy as a planner. None of us is perfect, and if we were, love wouldn’t hold much weight. Real romance isn’t riding off into the sunset after 3 perfect dates (thanks for the unrealistic expectations, Disney!). True romance is committing to love your spouse through each argument, mistake and misunderstanding. It’s standing by the person you love through every stage of life–growing together, forgiving each other and remembering every day how lucky you are to have found your perfectly imperfect soul mate. I am incredibly grateful to the sweet vendors that helped make this shoot a reality. They were all so incredible to work with and were able to take my vision and run with it! I hope you enjoy these lovely pictures from the Pride & Prejudice shoot!” – Brooke

You are so welcome, Brooke! You too are a joy to work with. I couldn’t ask for a sweeter daughter-in-law!
I love taking bridal portraits of brides a few days before their actual wedding day. It is such a fun, relaxing time for the bride and gives her a chance to be beautiful in her dress without all the craziness of the wedding day. Meagan decided to have her bridals taken at our home in Broadway, Virginia in our front field which was a perfect setting for her since she loves the country and the out of doors. Enjoy these lovely pictures of Meagan taken just about a week before she and Travis were married. Meagan, you are truly beautiful…inside and out!
My wonderful nephew, Travis, and his lovely bride, Meagan, are married! Yay! Their outdoor wedding took place at the picturesque Spring Meadows Barn in Mt. Solon, Virginia. It was very chilly for the 4th of October outside wedding, but it wasn’t raining and the sun was shining so all was good! I have known Travis all of his life (I remember the day he was born) and I had the privilege of meeting Meagan a few years ago when they started dating. I fell in love with her immediately. What a sweet, fun couple they are! They both enjoy the out of doors and living in the country so Spring Meadows Barn was a perfect venue for their special day. The ceremony was under a lovely willow tree beside of a natural spring with cows grazing in a nearby field. It made for a perfect setting for these two. With orange being Meagan’s favorite color (I wonder if that has anything to do with her beautiful hair?) the day was full of orange…orange mums, orange pumpkins and orange bouquets! A perfect theme for a fall wedding. And since Meagan had worked part-time at the local ice cream shop for 10 years, they couldn’t have a reception without serving the best homemade pumpkin ice cream I have ever tasted! Meagan and Travis, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your lovely wedding. I wish for you many wonderful years of happiness together!
Love,
Gayle

Nine Month old River is just so adorable! Oh, my, what a fun time I had with this little guy!
Wow, what an awesome wedding day it was for Anastasia and Christopher who celebrated their special day at the lovely Barboursville Vineyards in Barboursville, Virginia. I met these two a few months ago when we got together for their engagement shoot and I immediately fell in love with this sweet couple! They are so happy, so in love and so much fun to be around. It is easy to see that these two have found their true sole mate. They were so excited to be married. Their wedding was well planned and organized from start to finish and Anastasia did it all! They decided to have their small intimate wedding ceremony in front of the historic Barboursville ruins that are located on the property of the Vineyard. This Historic Landmark was designed by Thomas Jefferson for Governor James Barbour in 1814 and destroyed by fire in 1884. What a stunning, unique location for a wedding ceremony. The colors that Anastasia chose worked so well against the backdrop of the ruins and the bright yellow sunflowers added a nice pop of color. Thank you so much Anastasia and Christopher for inviting me to be a part of your special wedding day. It was so much fun! I wish for you many, wonderful happy years together! I hope you are enjoying your honeymoon in Italy!
Love,
Gayle

It was such a beautiful wedding for this sweet couple at the King Family Vineyards in Crozet, Virginia. The venue was absolutely breathtaking and I was so honored that I was invited to be a part of Joanna & Jason’s special day. I met Joanna many years ago when she and my daughter attended school together and became the best of friends. I love this sweet girl so much and I am so happy that she and Jason found each other to share the rest of their lives together. The weather was cloudy and rainy on and off. And with the threat of heavier rain at the time of their ceremony, it was decided that the event should be moved under the porch of the vineyard’s Carriage House instead of out on the lawn. This last minute change of location did not stop these two from having an absolutely lovely ceremony complete with family and friends. They were so ready to be married and it was easy to see how much they love one another by all of the sweet tears that were shed during their vows. Joanna & Jason, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your special day. You are such a lovely couple and I wish for you many happy and wonderful years together!
Love,
Gayle

Anne & Danny have been best friends for 32 years…yes, I did say 32 years! And, they finally decided to tie the knot. Danny proposed to Anne just a few weeks ago and they decided why wait any longer. This was such a sweet, intimate wedding that took place at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage in beautiful downtown Staunton, Virginia. This little cottage with its real thatched roof makes you feel like you are in England. It is so adorable. And it was the perfect venue for these two longtime friends. They were so excited for this day. What could be better than marrying your best friend of 32 years! What a sweet day! Anne and Danny, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your lovely day and I wish for you many wonderful years together as husband and wife!
Love,
Gayle
