I remember the day when Alexandra was born and it is hard for me to believe that she is already senior in high school.   Alex’s mom and I went to high school together and were college roommates and are still the best of friends.  Alex is beautiful just like her mom and as sweet as they come.  I had a great time running around with Alex in downtown Harrisonburg for Part 1 of her photo shoot, and then we met up again for part 2 of this senior session at Alex’s lovely home in the country.  Enjoy the pictures of this beautiful young lady.

Samantha & Derrick

What a beautiful wedding renewal ceremony it was for Samantha & Derrick at the Barn at Kline’s Mill in Linville, Virginia.   If you know anything about me then you probably know that I LOVE HORSES.  I have four horses of my own, and my favorite quarter horse and  I compete in 30-50 mile endurance trail rides.  So, when I found out that Samantha was going to be riding into her wedding ceremony on her horse, I was just a little bit excited!  I was so thrilled to be able to capture this special day for them.  It was truly a beautiful day!  Samantha and Derrick, you make such a sweet couple and have so much love for each other and  for your adorable little boy, Bentley.    I wish for all three of you many years of good health and lots of happiness!  Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your special day.

Purple & Turquoise Tea Party

Amelia from Amelia Marie Designs called me a few months ago looking for a photographer to photograph her styled Purple & Turquoise Tea Party that she was putting together.  I was thrilled to be able to help her out.  What an adorable group of girls she found to work with for this fun shoot.   The boutique style clothing was designed and created by Heidi Rhodes from A Cherry On Top and the hair and fashion accessories was designed and created by Dawn Prather from Crafted In Grace.  Check out this gorgeous Tea Party that took place at Wildwood Park in Bridgewater, Virginia.  So fun!

What a fun time I had with Joy during her senior shoot which took place on her family farm in Harrisonburg, VA.    Joy is such a lovely young lady…so sweet and beautiful, yet very comfortable in her cowboy boots sitting behind the wheel of a big John Deere tractor making hay on the family farm.  I so enjoyed working with this lovely gal.  Best wishes for a fun senior year!

Amy & Scott

I was honored to be invited to photograph Amy and Scott’s beautiful “navy and pink” wedding at the James Madison University Arboretum.  Wow!  Talk about gorgeous!  The day was just perfect… even with raindrops falling during the ceremony and with the threat of a thunderstorm coming our way, it was still perfect. With an outside wedding planned, uncertain weather can make for some quick last minute decisions, but Amy and Scott had no worries at all.  They were just as calm and cool as they could be and were going on with their special day as planned.  They were so ready to be married. The lovely JMU arboretum made for an appropriate venue for their wedding day since these two met at JMU when they were both enrolled in a reading Master’s Program. Amy teaches first grade and Scott is a fourth grade teacher.  I am so glad that I was able to meet this sweet couple.  Amy and Scott, I wish for you many wonderful years together and a long life filled with good health and lots of happiness!

 Congratulations, Amy & Scott!

Emily & J.T.

I feel so blessed to have met Emily & J.T.   They are both so sweet and  genuine, and I fell in love with them immediately.   Emily and J.T. have known each other for quite a number of  years; These two lovebirds actually met each other in first grade!  Yes, first grade!  They went  through school together, and have been a couple for 13 years.   They have recently built an absolutely beautiful home and when I say they built it that is what I mean…they literally built it themselves…every bit of it!  From digging the footers, pouring the concrete, framing, hanging the drywall, painting, putting in the cabinets and floors, landscaping, and the list goes on and on.  What a grand accomplishment!    There was no question where their wedding would take place…the backyard of their lovely custom built home in Linville, Virginia.   They share their home with Sam and Yogi , their 2 sweet  golden retriever pups.

Emily and J.T., I wish for you both many wonderful years together full of love,  good health and happiness.  Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your beautiful day!

Myra & Matt

Congratulations to Myra and Matt on your beautiful wedding at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel in historic downtown Staunton, Virginia. I first met Myra about 7 months ago when I was invited to her home to take pictures of her adorable newborn baby girl, Addyson. I found out that not only did Myra just have a new baby, but she was a full time nursing student and was also in the process of planning a big wedding…all at the same time!  Wow, was she a busy young woman.  And yes, she had a smile on her face the entire time I was there. I spent a few hours that day visiting with Myra and photographing her little girl and when she contacted me a few months later about photographing her wedding, I was quite flattered.

It was a lovely day in downtown Staunton with lots of friends and family gathered to witness the love and commitment of Myra and Matt.   Myra and Matt, you two make the sweetest couple and I wish for you many fun and awesome years together.  Thanks again for inviting me to be a part of your special day!
