Nikki & Ryan Are Engaged!

What a sweet, sweet couple Ryan and Nikki are.  And so in love!  I have known Ryan for many years as he grew up in the same small town that I grew up.  I just met his fiancé Nikki a few months ago and immediately fell in love with her.   They are just the sweetest couple and I was so flattered when they ask me to shoot their engagement photos!  They love the country and the out of doors so we decided to do the session in our front yard, our woods and our neighbor’s beautiful field.   The weather was just right.  They were on their way to an engagement party and we didn’t have tons of time, so I decided that my husband’s golf cart was a perfect way to get Ryan and Nikki from location to location.   We had so much fun cruising through the woods and fields and I believe they kind of enjoyed being chauffeured around!  Enjoy their pictures.

These are wonderful photographs! Love the setting, the poses, and the light you captured in each one, Gayle.

Katelyn & Cooper

Meet beautiful Katelyn who is 9 days old, and meet her adorable big brother Cooper who is almost 2.  Katelyn did not want to miss a thing while she was here, so I had the opportunity for some great “awake” pictures.    Check out those beautiful eyes!  And what a great little guy Cooper is.   Always on the go and as happy as he can be!  Congratulations Shanna and Brandon on your 2 beautiful children!

Meet little Katelyn

Clark & Brooke Engagement Session

What an adorable couple Clark and Brooke make!  Well, OK, Clark is my son and Brooke will be my daughter-in-law so I guess I am a little biased.  🙂   They are so much fun to be around so we couldn’t help but have a fun time during this engagement session at Bridgewater College where they met while they were students.  The second part of this shoot was taken when our family went on vacation to the Bahamas this summer.  We didn’t want to miss out on such a great location for more pictures.   Enjoy this adorable couple!

Mushrooms! | Criders, Virginia

We have had soooo much rain lately and the mushrooms are popping up everywhere!  And are they ever beautiful!  I have always loved mushrooms.  Not necessarily eating them, but looking at them and admiring how unique and different they all are.  I love their colors and their textures and how fragile they are.  Douglas and I bought some mountain land in Criders, Virginia last year and we very much enjoy using it as much as we possibly can for hiking, camping, riding horses, riding 4 wheelers, and just picnicking and enjoying it’s beauty.  Last weekend we were camping with our horses and as we were riding our horses through the woods, I noticed and incredible amount of beautiful mushrooms growing… more than I ever remember seeing before.  So, naturally, I wanted to capture their unique beauty with my camera.  These are all mushrooms at Burns Knob in Criders, Virginia.   I am reminded of the beauty of God’s creation and how much we have to be thankful for.  God is so good!
